US Crude Oil Exports: Same Suit, different fabric?
Momentum to change the export policy on US crude oil is growing in Washington, DC. The House Energy and Commerce Committee recently voted to end the four-decade ban on most oil exports. In the Senate, we see a potential bipartisan coalition forming around the notion of relaxing, to some degree, the current policy. A few commentators even forecast the ban will be lifted in its entirety by spring 2016, but that seems like a pipe dream given the Obama Administration's stated opposition to Republican-drafted legislation in the House.
