Friday Sector Laggards: Services, Consumer Products
Looking at the sectors faring worst as of midday Friday, shares of Services companies are underperforming other sectors, showing a 1.7% loss. Within the sector, Ross Stores, Inc. (NASD: ROST) and Netflix Inc. (NASD: NFLX) are two large stocks that are lagging, showing a loss of 8.3% and 5.3%, respectively. Among the largest ETFs, one ETF closely following services stocks is the iShares U.S. Consumer Services ETF (AMEX: IYC), which is down 1.8% on the day, and up 3.12% year-to-date. Ross Stores, Inc., meanwhile, is up 8.01% year-to-date, and Netflix Inc. is up 118.34% year-to-date. Combined, ROST and NFLX make up approximately 2.2% of the underlying holdings of IYC.
